The Grange Gazette October 2022 Edition Come little leaves Said the wind one day Come down to the meadow And we shall play. Put on your dresses Of red and gold, For summer is past And the days grow cold. Dancing and leaping The leaves went along, Until winter called them To end their sweet song. Soon, fast asleep In their earthy beds The snow lay a covering Over their heads. October is always a busy month and a time of thanksgiving. This year we will be giving thanks on Wednesday 26th October with our Harvest Festival service and on Friday 28th we will be holding a thanksgiving service of a different kind when we give special thanks for the loved ones and special people in our lives. Residents, family and staff are all invited to bring along a photograph or a sentimental belonging to the service as we think of those who have brought happiness and love into our lives. Your items will be returned at the end of the service. We will also enjoy poetry and blessings relating to the love which continues to surround you and listen to music which holds wonderful memories for you all. Details will be displayed in our main reception and we look forward to an afternoon of reflection and thanks. Activities and Entertainment This month we enjoy a variety of entertainment and activities along with preparations for the rememberance service in November. Details of activities with Lorraine and Shirley are posted near the main notice board and we look forward to seeing you at our different sessions. Have-a-Go Crafters Our ‘Have-a-Go’ craft group will be focusing on a new artist and Shirley will introduce the works of Gustav Klimt to you all. We will enjoy creating our own ‘Tree of Life’ to display in the main corridor and use different mediums to decorate in the style of Klimt. It’s always exciting to begin a new project and Shirley is looking forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions. October Birthdays This month we celebrate three birthdays at the Grange with Gordon on the 15th and Winifred on the 31st.
