The Grange Gazette

May Edition 2024

Our many thanks to the Breaston Ukulele Group for a wonderful afternoon of entertainment.

Entertainment and Activities

We enjoyed a great afternoon with the Breaston Ukulele Group as we sang along to songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s and we look forward to seeing them again later in the year. Throughout May we have weekly entertainment with the return of your favourite singers together with new performers. Make a date in your June diary and bring along your dancing shoes on the 4th when we look forward to entertainment from a local Buddy Holly tribute act.  Families, friends and staff are always welcome to join residents and enjoy the entertainment. Times and details are displayed in the main corridor and we look forward to seeing you.

Residents are currently taking a trip down ‘Memory Lane’ as part of our ongoing project  remembering yesteryear and reminiscing about life in the area and our own personal memories. We  discussed ‘A Kitchen Full of Love’ and recalled our feelings and recollected thoughts of food cooking on the kitchen range, housework and washday. In most households the kitchen appeared to be the centre of the home and our thoughts will be recreated in art form for display in the Grange. We also discussed our favourite childhood dinners and puddings along with rationing and school dinners. Our amazing kitchen staff will be recreating these favourite meals for our residents to enjoy. Menus will be on display in the reception area and we are looking forward to trying a ‘taste of memories’ over the coming months.

Terry Hallam Memorial Quiz Trophy

Thank you to residents for taking part in our quiz for April and well done to Gill and Margaret H for gaining top marks. Scores are accumulated and calculated throughout the year and the overall winner announced in the New Year. Happy quizzing to you all.

May Birthday

This month we wish Doreen the very best of days as she celebrates her birthday on the 1st of May.

Everyone at the Grange wishes you a very Happy Birthday.
