The Grange Gazette

June 2023 Edition

The Grange Residential Home ‘make a difference’ campaign along with Team Lenney and Mr Musicakes would like to extend sincere thanks to residents, their families, staff and friends for supporting our fundraising event in aid of Treetops and Ward 2 of the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital. Your kindness and generosity raised an overwhelming £1,226.83 in the memory of Paul Lenney and will be used to make such a difference to the lives of others.  Again we thank you; Paul would be immensely proud of you all.

Pooches Therapy Dogs

We hope you enjoyed the visit from Pooches last month. Both residents and staff fell completely in love with Ruby and Bertie, the therapy dogs who brightened our afternoon during late May.  We welcomed the rare Briard dogs with cuddles, plenty of dog biscuits and lots of smiles. Dale will return with his canine companions for more visits to the Grange and we will post details on the notice board so families can also enjoy meeting Ruby and Bertie.

We have always encouraged visits from therapy dogs and horses at the Grange and love to see families bring in their own dogs to say ‘hello’.  Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can go ahead with our ‘Pet Show’ during the coming weeks.  Competition Forms will be available in the foyer and we look forward to a lovely afternoon with all your adorable pets.

Entertainment

Again we have a full entertainments programme this month with the return of your favourite singers and also a new face at the Grange.  Dave Johns will be singing on Tuesday 13th so let's join together and extend a warm Grange-welcome to make Dave feel at home.

Towards the end of the month Johnny Victory will bring his ‘Last Night of the Proms Show’ to the Grange so bring along your union flags and  best singing voices!  This is always a popular show and we would like to remind both family and friends they are very welcome to join in and enjoy the entertainment from our weekly singing artists.

2nd Long Eaton St John’s Brownies

In celebration of the King's Coronation we had a wonderful visit from St. John’s Brownies who also made flags and crowns for residents to wear.  We enjoyed an evening singalong and look forward to seeing our friends again during the summer.

Vinnie’s Plant Stall

Vinnie’s plants can be found on the garden table located by the front door of the Grange … they are selling FAST!  Vinnie will have more plants and produce for the table throughout the coming weeks with a variety of garden goodies at reasonable prices.  All money is in aid of Treetops and Ward 2 of the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and he thanks you for supporting Team Lenney and their fundraising.

Staff News
