We look forward to seeing residents, family, friends and staff at our annual Summer Fayre. This year we have members of Ilkeston Brass joining the Grange and we are looking forward to a lovely afternoon. Visitors are more than welcome to bring chairs or blankets to use on the lawn while they listen to the band.
In the event of poor weather we will enjoy ‘sunshine’ indoors and the Fayre will be held inside the Grange with the band playing on!
The Holiday Inn have kindly offered parking space on the day. Our visitors are welcome to use their ‘ADDITIONAL PARKING’ area. However, they do stress your car registration number must be registered on the computerised system located at the hotel reception desk to avoid an automatic ‘Parking Eye’ fine. The Holiday Inn will also provide Shirley and visitors with a barrier code. We hope this will help on what is usually a very busy day.
All money raised at the Summer Fayre will be added to the Resident’s Fund and we thank you for your continued support. All contributions make it possible for Shirley to provide different entertainment and activities.
We also have a fundraising event on the evening of Friday 22nd June at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium who have allocated trap 6 to the Grange with the possibility of a £150 donation towards activities. Posters will be displayed in the Grange reception area and discount admission tickets costing £4 can be obtained from Shirley. The money raised from ticket sales will also be added to the Resident’s Fund as a donation from the stadium.
Johnny Victory has so far visited the Grange on two separate occasions and proved to be a great success. We have enjoyed ‘Putting on the Ritz’ and singing along to the songs of the 1940’s. Make a particular date in your diary for Wednesday 27th June when Johnny will stage his tribute to the Rat Pack with a Viva Las Vegas Show from 2pm in the dining room. Not to be missed!
This month we celebrate two birthdays with Terry on the 10th June and Kate on the 30th. Everyone at the Grange send their best wishes and hope you enjoy the best of days.
The Royal Quiz was very popular last month and we enjoyed a lovely day celebrating the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Thank you to all who entered the quiz and we must congratulate Ernest on winning a very closely fought competition. Well done.
This month staff will undertake training in Fire safety hazards, Precautions, Drills and Evacuation.
And finally a poem for June…
Far up in the deep blue sky,
Great white clouds are floating by,
All the world is dressed in green,
Many happy birds are seen,
Roses bright and sunshine clear
Show that lovely June is here.
